CrossFit has been an incredible influenced in my life and as a coach at CrossFit Glendora, I hope that all athletes have the same positive experience as I have had with Crossfit. My focus is to create a positive environment for all athletes to feel comfortable and motivated. Building confidence is important in achieving goals, and at CrossFit Glendora, we encourage setting goals and help you work to achieve them. It is also important to show athletes how being strong and dedicated will better themselves not only in the gym, but in everyday life as well. Positive health communities that promote strength and hard work are my passion and I will continue to better myself in all surrounding fields to help make CrossFit Glendora the best place for all people who are looking for a great fitness community.
CrossFit Kids Coach
Education and Certifications:
Hi, I’m Katy. I am Crossfit Glendora’s Crossfit Kids coach. I have been coaching with the CFG team since 2013 and hold a Crossfit Level 1 certificate as well as a certification by the Crossfit Kids HQ Seminar staff and a Masters Degree in Kinesiology. I am a credentialed Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education teacher, and have been teaching for 8 years.
Working with student athletes has become my greatest joy. I love the willingness to learn and competitiveness that comes from athletes of all ages. On the field and in and in the gym I work to create a friendly, fun, and educational experience and love nothing more than to see my athletes succeed in the gym and in school.

It was July of 2012, and I was two weeks into my Crossfit experience, already completely addicted. The workout was Karen - 150 wall balls for time - and even though it kicked my butt, I loved it. That's what initially drew me to Crossfit, and has kept me coming for the last four years. It's the constant challenge, getting pushed to (and sometimes past!) your limits, and continual growth - not just physical, but also mental, emotional, and even spiritual. And the community, including the friendships and accountability, are equally valuable - like family. I even officiated a wedding of two CFG coaches in the summer of 2014 (!). I love the opportunity to give back to the CFG community through coaching, because I feel I've been given a whole lot the last four years; and my wife (Mary), and four kids (Isabelle, Braydon, Brooklyn, and Noah) have also been participants in the CFG community. I love that we can share Crossfit together (but don't always love it when my wife beats me!). See you at 5:00am!Education and Certifications:
As the oldest coach at Crossfit Glendora my mission is to show it’s never too late to find the best version of yourself. My mission as a coach at Crossfit Glendora is to lead and guide our members towards their many and diverse fitness goals. Even is your goal is just a better quality of life. I began my fitness journey as most kids through team sports like soccer, baseball , football, rugby, and have had a passion for training ever since. I spent decades in globo-gyms searching for a better way to train and maintain my level of fitness, and like most people I became complacent, bored, and feel into all my old bad habits. Then I walked through the doors of CFG and it was like I was reborn. I started Crossfit and was instantly hooked because of the encouraging team atmosphere, friendly competition, and a community of people that want a better and healthier lifestyle.
